Auditory Short-term Memory

Auditory Short-term Memory is one of the cognitive skills that you can assess and train on CogniFit. It is usually described as the ability to remember auditory information over a brief period of time (in the order of seconds).

In comparison to visual and sensory memory, auditory memory is thought to last a little longer, a bit more than three or four seconds. For example, you attend an event and are presented to some new colleagues. A few seconds later you turn to one of them trying to recall his name and start a conversation.

Example: While listening to the radio, you hear a commercial announcing a 10 minute special offer on wide screen TVs. You MEMORIZE the phone number of the store and rush to a phone to dial it.
